From humble beginnings in 2011 – working as a sole trader from a spare box room, ‘Adam Winson Arboriculture’ became AWA Tree Consultants Ltd and moved into a small office in 2012. This was in the then still ‘edgy’ area of Sheffield – Neepsend/Kelham Island. Since then, the AWA team and our customer base, has steadily grown. While the small office was great, over the last few years we were fast outgrowing it, and despite flexible working arrangements, when we were all in the office together, it was very cosy!

It became evident that we needed a bigger space to accommodate our expanding team of Tree Consultants. As such, we have recently expanded (upstairs!) to include a larger open plan office, in the now vibrant and decidedly hip neighbourhood of Kelham Island, Sheffield.

This expansion marks a milestone in our journey of providing exceptional tree consultancy services, particularly in delivering comprehensive tree survey reports across Yorkshire and the surrounding counties.

Firmly Rooted in Kelham Island

As AWA Tree Consultants have been based in the Neepsend/Kelham Island area of Sheffield for the last 10 years, we did not want to leave the area. The Kelham Island area is a thriving neighbourhood known for its rich history, vibrant community, and commitment to sustainability, making it a perfect match for our values and mission. Previously a run-down red-light-district (as described in the Arctic Monkeys’ song When the Sun Goes Down), last year Kelham Island was named one of the ‘Coolest Neighbourhoods in the World‘ to visit by Time Out.

It’s a great place to work and it provides an ideal central location for us to efficiently visit sites for tree surveys across Yorkshire and nearby counties. We are excited to be a part of this dynamic community as we continue to extend our reach and serve a wider geographical area.
